Watch the film HE EVEN HAS YOUR EYES (comedy, France, 2016) on your own before February 25 (Netflix).

Then join us for a fun evening of discussions about the film, BIPOC in film and Black History Month. Special guests Melissa Murray Mutch and Sébastien Aka Kouakou will host the discussions in English and French.  There will be fun online quiz with prizes to win!  Registration is free.

Sébastien Aka Kouakou

Sébastien est enseignant chercheur en phase terminale de sa thèse doctorale à l’université de Western Ontario sur la thématique des migrations et relations ethniques (les crises contemporaines de migrants). Sébastien se spécialise en politiques et stratégies d’immigration et en études hispaniques. Il détient une maîtrise de l’université de Bouaké en Côte d’Ivoire et un diplôme de troisième cycle à l’université de Legon au Ghana.

Sébastien est passionné par les questions d’immigration et parle 9 langues dont le français, l’anglais et l’espagnol. Il est membre de plusieurs comités notamment le Comité consultatif des Minorités raciales et ethnoculturelles francophones de l’Assemblée de la Francophonie de l’Ontario, le Comité annuel tripartite de Relocalisation et l’Agence de Nations Unies pour les réfugiés.

Melissa Murray Mutch

Melissa Murray Mutch is proud to be a board member of HBFF. She is a professional actress, playwright, arts educator and recent transplant from the New York Metro area.  She made her theatrical debut in Hamilton with the Canadian premiere of David Auburn’s play “Lost Lake” for the Hamilton Fringe Festival. She recently performed in the Ryga Festival production of “Night Desk” directed by Heather Davies and the “Vagina Monologues” at the Staircase Theatre. In NY and New Jersey she performed with Hudson Theatreworks, The American Slavery Project, The Fire This Time Festival as well as the New Perspectives Theater. Off-Broadway: “Death of the Liberal Class” ( The New Ohio Theater), “Playboy of the West Indies”, and “Babes in Boyland”(Lincoln Center Theater)an in the regional theater production of  “This” by Melissa James Gibson at the Shaker Bridge Theater in New Hampshire. She has also written solo shows including “Obnoxious” and “Meanie” at La Mama, ETC.  Film and T.V. credits include the award-winning film “Hungry”, “The Umbrella Academy” Law and Order: SVU”, “Sabrina the Teenage Witch” and “Sesame Street”. Proud member of CAEA, ACTRA, AEA & SAGAFTRA.
